E3 is this coming week, and I\u2019m cautiously optimistic about it. I wish I could say \u201cI\u2019m super excited and pumped zOMGz I can\u2019t WAIT!\u201d but I\u2019m just not there this year. What with Sony not even showing up this year, and the cringy virtue signaling and blatant pandering of last year\u2019s show, I\u2019m just not sure how things are gonna go. Only time will tell.<\/p>\n

No more of THIS… please…<\/strong><\/p>\n

But that isn\u2019t what I\u2019m here to write about today. No no no. All this thinking about the upcoming E3 has me thinking about E3\u2019s of old. Specifically one particular show\u2026.<\/p>\n

Now most people have a \u201cgreat\u201d moment that sticks out, like that time you literally saw the EXACT moment a great show died, in real time, with the announcement of the Wonderbook during Sony\u2019s 2012 show. Or that time when Kinect avatars suddenly became contortionists live on stage, just in case you were curious what the bottom of an avatar’s foot looked like, they had you covered. Or how about that \u201cKinectimals\u201d travesty with the best kid actors this side of Jake \u201cI\u2019ll-Try-Spinning-That\u2019s-A-Good-Trick\u201d Lloyd\u2026<\/p>\n

There are lots of great moments that stick out for all the wrong reasons, and if you wanna have a good time, there\u2019s plenty of cringe supercut compilations on YouTube you can check out that cover most of the bases.<\/p>\n

Don’t worry, Mr. Caffeine, the internet never forgets!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Again though, that\u2019s not why I\u2019m here either. There\u2019s one \u201cmoment\u201d for me that sticks out far more than the others. It\u2019s something that I always seem to come back to, time, and time again. It\u2019s something of a tradition of mine to watch this a few times a year. Maybe I\u2019m just feeling under the weather, or I\u2019m having a cruddy day, or sometimes I just watch it because I straight up want to! I\u2019ve lost track of how many times I\u2019ve seen it and how much joy it\u2019s given me over the years!<\/p>\n

But what am I talking about? Why, the entire Konami 2010 conference, of course! I could write about everything I love in this, everything that went so beautifully wrong, and all the reasons it\u2019s probably the single greatest thing ever committed to film, I could do it for literal ages! I\u2019m not gonna do that though. It\u2019s a real site to behold, and it deserves to be witnessed, and I really don\u2019t wanna spoil it too much. Even if you\u2019ve seen it already, it\u2019s always worth watching again. It\u2019s comedy gold! Just remember one thing as you watch: THIS WAS ALL LIVE WITH THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE WATCHING!<\/p>\n

But I\u2019m not gonna subject you to the whole thing here. If you are curious enough, I suggest you seek it out on your own. Oh, and a BIG shout out to my man, Japanese-Steven Tyler! He\u2019s, without a doubt, my absolute favorite part of this beautiful mess! He\u2019s a true master\u2026 of DANCE!… You\u2019ll understand after you watch it, I swear!<\/p>\n
